This is the first year that my home decor is white/beige/neutrals and also the first year our home has a fireplace! I got the chance to decorate our mantel this year and I kept it really simple, modern and cheap.
I incorporated some of my DIY Budget Friendly Home Decor in my display and it looks fab! Here’s how I did it!

You’ve got to make sure that you’ve got 5-6 elements to add. Below is a list of the 6 things I added that tied my mantel altogether. I made a cute Instagram reel assembling it together, click here to watch!
HERE IS MY SIMPLE CHRISTMAS MANTEL DECOR:
Fabric/Garland to hang in the corner
I used a white throw that I haven’t touched in a long time! Garlands are beautiful as well but my living room is filled with them. I didn’t want to overdo it haha
Lights
Whether it’s fairy lights, Christmas lights or candles, the mantel needs a little glow to turn on during the evenings. I put these LED flameless candles I used from my wedding last year and they look great!
Fillers
I made these really cute painted pinecones and acorns and filled the space with it! I’ve scrolled through Pinterest and saw little houses, glittery reindeers and faux presents and they look really good too!
Accent Pieces
I bought these super cute yarn trees from a good friend of mine, Emily, who does some custom requests through her shop EJ Crochet Shop and I made these my accent piece on the side. I have 3 slender trees that are different sizes.
Quotes/Some sort of writing
This is one definitely a preference… It isn’t that popular but it depends what you do with it! I’ve seen some pictures where they put it on the wall above the mantel or have a small wood block with a short phrase or a word. I made mines with a paint pen on a floating frame!
Stockings
Last but not least, the thing that ties it all together! STOCKINGS. I had really bright and cheerful red ones but I gave them to my mama who didn’t have any and bought two cute white ones 🙂 You could place it on the sides or right in the middle.
Not my dream mantel decor but you do what you can with what you have!
Comment below if you decorated a mantel this year and what you did 🙂
Xo,
Lynn

I wish we had a mantelpiece in our house, so instead, I act as our piano is our mantelpiece. I love adding foliage and Fairy Lights x
