The great thing about these cookies is that you only need 3 ingredients! You’ll need oil and red velvet cake mix which you can find in the baking aisles and eggs which you can find in the dairy aisle!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make these super quick and easy red velvet cake mix cookies are:
- Red Velvet Cake Mix
- Oil – any neutral tasting oil is fine like canola or vegetable
- Eggs

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
This recipe is so easy that you really don’t need too much! Of course, you can use what you already have at home like baking dishes/sheets and use your own mixing bowl/spoons. I invested in cookie scoops a while back and it has been a game-changer! I love making even-sized cookies. You’ll also want parchment paper or just make sure that the sheet is lightly greased!

- Chocolate Chips
- Cheesecake Chips
- Walnuts
- Almonds
- Pecans
- Sprinkles
- Cream Cheese
WHAT DO RED VELVET CAKE MIX COOKIES TASTE LIKE?
Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies have a rich, chocolatey flavor but are super light. They are soft, chewy, and slightly sweet, with a delightful balance of flavors that will satisfy your sweet tooth. I’ve loved red velvet cake mix cookies for a while and it’s always a hit with my friends and family. If I have to bring a dessert, this would be it!
It gives off homemade yet also not a lot of work which is what we love here! These are super addicting too so I would recommend making 2 batches if you’re bringing these to a party!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies typically last for 3-5 days when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer shelf life, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze them for up to 2-3 months.
I find these cookies keep so well and they aren’t dry even after a few days. I love making these for home as well and having it with tea or coffee in the afternoon! It is the best pick-me-up treat!
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
My blog is all about simple and easy recipes. I love cooking and making my own food all the time but when it comes down to it, there is not enough time in the world for me to bake and cook intricate meals. I love being able to create easy substitutes for treats that I love and not having to spend all day in the kitchen so I can do other things that I love!
Cake mix cookies are one of my fav go-to cookie recipe because it is so dang easy and versatile. I love making these holiday themed and they are so cute!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Depending on what cake mix you get, the mixture may come out runny, don’t worry! If you find your mixture is a little bit runny, you can place your “dough” in the fridge to stiffen up a little bit because you place them on a baking sheet. They don’t expand very much so even if you bake them a little runny which I have tons of times, they will still be delicious, cakey cookies!
