Pumpkin Sweet Cream is the ultimate Fall coffee creamer! I said it and I mean it!
We’re under the illusion that we’ve got to buy our Starbucks to enjoy that special coffee but I’m here to tell you that you can make these drinks in the comfort of your own home, all year round!
I really enjoy pumpkin spice and would go as far as to say it’s my all-time favourite flavour. Everything about Fall is so dreamy and cozy + all my life’s major events and dates are during Fall!
It’s my birthday, my husband’s birthday, our wedding anniversary and Thanksgiving!
Are you just as obsessed with Fall as I am? What’s your favourite thing about Fall? I’d love to know!
PIN Pumpkin Sweet Cream FOR LATER:
Shops are now releasing Fall flavours and I’m here for it! I love seeing the gorgeous Fall packaging and home decor come out!
I started making pumpkin sweet cream about 2 years ago after college when I moved out of my parent’s house because I had more fridge space! I have not looked back since. Every few months when I get a pumpkin sweet cream craving, I just make a small batch and enjoy it for a good week or so!
Do you love pumpkin spice everything?! What’s your favourite pumpkin spice treat? I’d love to know in the comments below!
This Pumpkin Sweet Cream recipe is accompanied by a YouTube Tutorial. If you haven’t subscribed to my channel on YouTube, don’t forget to!
HERE IS HOW TO MAKE PUMPKIN SWEET CREAM:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The incredible thing about this Pumpkin Sweet Cream recipe is that even though it is a Fall inspired recipe, you can get the ingredients at any grocery store all year round! Canned pumpkin and pumpkin spice are usually in the baking section of the grocery store and are available all year. Cream and milk can be found in the dairy section. Vanilla syrup can be either homemade OR also bought in stores! Vanilla syrup is usually found in the coffee or tea section.
Alternatively, if you do opt-out to make vanilla syrup at home as I did, all you really need is equal parts sugar and water and some vanilla extract. I followed a simple homemade vanilla syrup recipe from Coffee At Three
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this delicious Pumpkin Sweet Cream are:
- Half and Half Cream (10%)
- 2% Milk
- Pumpkin Puree
- Vanilla Syrup
- Pumpkin Spice
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
The equipment needed to make this pumpkin sweet cream is very minimal. You’ll basically just need a blender to blend everything together. If a blender is not available to you, you can alternatively use a milk frother! This is a bigger batch and will last you about 4-5 coffees so you’ll need a container to store this in! You’ll need some measuring spoons and cups too!
WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO PREPARE?
The steps to prepare this Pumpkin Sweet Cream Cold Brew are:
- Measure – all the ingredients
- Add – every ingredient that you measured into your blender
- Blend – everything together for about a minute or until everything is smooth and slightly thicken
- Pour – over a hot cup of coffee or a glass of cold brew with ice
- Serve – and enjoy!
CAN I SUB ANYTHING OUT?
You most definitely can sub some things in this pumpkin sweet cream recipe. I can’t guarantee that it will have the same texture but you can use plant-based creams and milks!
Keep the pumpkin for this one as it is after all a pumpkin sweet cream recipe!
For the vanilla syrup, you can make it easily from home but if you don’t have access to vanilla syrup, you can use white sugar or brown sugar then just add vanilla extract. Some other recipes use condensed milk instead of sugar which is a great alternative!
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
This pumpkin sweet cream literally tastes like Fall. It is so delicious in both hot and cold coffee. This drink is always the best to drink in cozy weather! The best way to enjoy this is definitely either with a hot coffee, cold brew or homemade iced coffee!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
This cream keeps for basically as long as the expiration date on the cream and milk you use. For me, this batch doesn’t last for more than 5 days. As long as you keep it in a good pitcher where you don’t tamper with it, as dairy is very touch and go sometimes, you’re good to go!
WHAT GOES WITH THIS PUMPKIN SWEET CREAM?
This pumpkin sweet cream goes with a variety of foods such as:
- Coffee – Either hot coffee or cold brew or iced coffee
- Chai – Either hot tea or cold chai
- Ice Cream – Perfect to serve on top of vanilla ice cream
- Yogurt – Vanilla or plain yogurt is perfect for this!
- Smoothies – Pumpkin smoothies are the best! I’ve linked a recipe below!
WHAT ARE OTHER VARIATIONS OF PUMPKIN SWEET CREAM?
Some tried and true recipes for pumpkin sweet cream that I love are:
- Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew – This one uses regular sugar and no milk!
- Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew Recipe – Condensed milk is the sweetener for this one
- Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew COPYCAT Recipe -This one is done over stove top!
MORE PUMPKIN DRINK RECIPES?
People are so creative with their pumpkin drinks! I am in awe of how many different pumpkin drinks there are out there. These recipes are all on my list of pumpkin flavoured things to make this year:
- Slow Cooker Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate – White chocolate is elite! Adding pumpkin? YUM!
- Caramel Pumpkin Cider – I usually make apple cider but caramel pumpkin sounds delish
- Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte – Boozy lattes is perfect for a cool Fall night!
- Pumpkin White Russian Cocktail – Adding this to my list of Thanksgiving cocktails!
- Pumpkin Juice – This is a Harry Potter inspired drink! Apricot or Peach nectar is in this one
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DISH?
The inspiration to make this pumpkin sweet cream is simply that I’m a girl on a budget who loves this drink from Starbucks all year round! I had to find a way to satisfy both my need to enjoy this drink regardless of the season as well as enjoy it in an affordable way!
Where I live, when Starbucks starts selling pumpkin spice drinks, they range from about $4-$6. That is just way too much for me to be doing every day! All of the ingredients in this comes up to about $12 but lasts me for a good 2-3 weeks! The only thing to be wary of is the expiration of dairy. I always have extra pumpkin leftover to make desserts with as well1
HOW CAN I MEAL PREP THIS RECIPE?
There’s not really a way to technically meal prep this pumpkin sweet cream but it is super easy to make in the mornings so it wouldn’t be a problem! I make my Budget Friendly Iced Coffees once a week and just put everything together in the morning. I suggest you get a really good mug that keeps your ice solid and drink cold for as long as possible. I love my Yeti and put both my hot and cold drinks in them!
Every morning, I grab my mug and put in my ice cubes, iced coffee or cold brew then my pumpkin sweet cream on top! My Yeti keeps my drinks hot/cold all day which I love! If you’re using a regular glass, make it right before you drink it.
COST OF THIS PUMPKIN SWEET CREAM?
Based on my groceries in CAD:
- Half and Half (473ml) – $2.25
- 2% Milk (473ml) – $1.90
- Pumpkin Puree (796ml) -$4.90
- Pumpkin Spice (35g) – $5.25
- Vanilla Syrup (homemade) – $0.50
Total: $14.80 (not all the ingredients were used and leftovers can be used for other recipes)
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Yes! I enjoy this pumpkin sweet cream recipe so much and am happy to be sharing such a simple and easy recipe with you all.
One note to add is that since we are blending the pumpkin spice and pumpkin puree, you can still feel the texture of them. If you don’t like sipping that in your drink, you can steep all the ingredients then strain it before serving it!

I’ve never been much of a pumpkin person, but my husband adores it. We have a big week-long camping trip coming up in September to celebrate our anniversary. I’m going to have to make this for him so that trip. We love being able to sit around and enjoy a cup of coffee, listening to the morning birds, and I’m sure this would really and to the experience for him!
