HERE IS HOW TO MAKE PESTO PUFF PASTRY CHRISTMAS TREES:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
You can find the ingredients for this recipe at your local grocery store! You’ll need some puff pastry which is generally found in the frozen or refrigerated section, pesto and parmesan from the sauce aisle! You can also make all these from scratch if you have made puff pastry and pesto from scratch before! Those are goals!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make these delicious pesto Christmas trees are:
- Puff Pastry
- Pesto
- Parmesan
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
The equipment I used for this recipe is a baking sheet, parchment paper, general cooking basics like a cutting board, knife and spatula and of course, the wooden BBQ skewers!
Here are some of my fav Amazon kitchen and baking favs that I personally use!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
Yes! You sure can make some edits to this recipe to make it your own! If you want to brush more pesto on these, it would make it more green and vibrant! You can also add in any toppings you’d like or make the stars on top from another recipe like cheese.
You can alternatively add some green food colouring to the puff pastry to make it even more festive! Personally, since this recipe is so easy, I wouldn’t do much to change it, however, I would recommend adding some kind of dipping sauce on the side! That would be super delicious.
WHAT DO PESTO PUFF PASTRY CHRISTMAS TREES TASTE LIKE?
These little pesto Christmas trees are super crunchy and buttery! I love all things puff pastry because of how flaky it is and each bite is a little burst of pesto but not too overpowering and the best for getting your stomach warmed up for the lovely Christmas dinner to follow!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
This recipe is one of those recipes that can be stored in the fridge and enjoyed for another day however, it’s best eaten fresh! You can keep these in the fridge but to reheat, if you want them to keep crunchy and flaky again, I would recommend heating them up in the air fryer or they’ll just be soft when heated in the microwave. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days!
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I actually saw this on social media and decided to try it out myself! Let me tell you that it is much harder than what it looks like to shape Christmas trees on a skewer haha. My trees low key look like intestines but they are still cute and taste great!
I love anything festive and will be attempting so many Christmas-themed recipes!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
No other notes for this one! Have so much holiday cheer while putting them together!
