Chicken wings is something I can’t live without. Really. Can’t live without them!
We have these pretty regularly and I’m always looking for new ways to make them. These Maple Mustard Chicken Wings is so delicious! You’ll be thinking about when you’ll have it again while you’re eating it! Most people would do a honey mustard recipe but I love using maple syrup rather than honey as I feel it isn’t as sweet!
Baked wings are the best way to have wings in my opinion as it is still super juicy but the oil is drained out and keeps its shape. Where as if you fry them, they are super oily although yummy haha and if you air fry them, they get a little dry! I still use all those methods to cook wings but I do prefer baking them most days!
How do you cook your wings? Let me know in the comments below!

You’ll notice in this Maple Mustard Chicken Wings recipe and honestly most of my recipes that I add in a dash of soy sauce a lot! I love soy sauce and it always gives me recipes a rich umami flavor. This recipe doesn’t require it but I do love the color it gives the wings too!
HERE IS HOW TO MAKE Maple Mustard Chicken Wings:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
You can find these ingredients anywhere! They are pretty standard now and most likely available at the smallest grocery stores too!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
- Chicken Wings
- Maple Syrup
- Yellow Mustard
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Baking Powder
- Hot Sauce (Optional)
- Soy Sauce (Optional)
CAN I SUB ANYTHING OUT?
Yes! You absolutely can. If you like honey instead of maple syrup, you can use that! You can also use Dijon mustard or whatever other mustard you prefer. If you want it more creamy, you can add a tsp or 2 of mayo.
For reasons near and dear to my heart, I suggest you keep the chicken wings BUT we are open to all suggestions here so this sauce would be great for pork, seafood, tofu, and even fried cheese sticks!
I genuinely love the combination of maple syrup and mustard and you can put it on anything! I’ve in the past added mayo and put it in my sandwiches.
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
I love mustard and don’t think I could live without it! I I love mustard much more than I love ketchup. It tastes like a standard honey mustard sauce but instead its a maple syrup sweetener. The wings are cooked perfectly so it does have a nice crisp to it.
ANY OTHER NOTES?
You can make these Maple Mustard Chicken Wings one of two ways.
- Bake the wings and sauce all together – delicious but loses it’s little crunch it has
- Bake the wings first then toss it in sauce after – keeps its crunch
I personally love easy dinners so I just put everything in the oven! If I was serving it to guests, I would most likely toss it later or keep the sauce on the side!
This recipe will be how coated in the sauce and cooked in the oven.
Maple Mustard Chicken Wings
Equipment
- Oven
Ingredients
- 2 Lbs Chicken Wings *Large Pack*
- 3/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Mustard
- 1/2 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Pepper
- 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Hot Sauce (Optional)
- 1/2 Tsp Soy Sauce (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- In a large bowl, pat dry your Chicken Wings with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together your maple syrup, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, hot sauce (optional), and soy sauce (optional). Pour in mixture into the large bowl of wings.
- Ensure your chicken wings are fully coated in the sauce then add in your baking powder and mix together.
- Place chicken wings in a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Flip half way through and bake for another 20-30 minutes.
- Plate/serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Food safe temperature of the meat should be 165F but I let them go in for longer till the bone comes a part easier.
- Baking powder makes the wings crispy! If you don’t care for that, you can skip it if you’d like.
Hope you enjoyed this Maple Mustard Chicken Wings recipe! We had wings last week so there’s nothing in my freezer anymore. I’ll have to pick some up on my next grocery trip.
