Trying to decide on one treat? Why not have a taste of each?! This board cost me about $20 and will last a while in the pantry too!
Just a disclaimer, this is by no means a “healthy” selection of snacks but they are affordable and you can get it anywhere! I know that a lot of families don’t have the luxury of buying the highest quality of products and I completely understand! My family and I did not grow up wealthy and to this day I appreciate lower quality products to get by.
PIN FOR LATER:
I still buy no-name or store brand products when I grocery shop because they are generally the cheapest. Usually, I only buy meat/seafood when it’s on sale and is in my budget. I will still buy food products from my local Dollar store and buy fast food instead of getting expensive to take out when I’m trying to cut my budget.
You can switch out any treats that you’d like but it’s a fun selection especially when you’ve got little kiddos at home feeling a different Christmas this year!
HERE ARE THE STEPS TO A CHRISTMAS TREAT CHARCUTERIE BOARD:
Where can I find these ingredients?
I first checked what I had a home! I had marshmallows, chocolatey candy cane cookies, and Ferrero’s. Then I went to the Dollar Store to check what I can get that’s cheap and Christmas themed. I was able to pick up chocolate wafer rolls, Santa chocolates, candy canes, and Little Debbie Christmas cakes. My last stop was Walmart and I got little gingerbread cookies, kisses and white chocolate pretzels.
How can I assemble this?
Easy peasy. See how I did it in this Instagram reel here! Get any platter, plate or chopping board in your home and start placing the treats in sections. Then add any garnishes you’d like! I had two pieces that fell off my garland so I just added it to my board.
A great tip is making sure that you separate colours. If you can see in my board, I put the white marshmallows away from the white chocolate pretzels. You don’t want to put all of the same colours in the same spot if you’re into aesthetics!
You’re all done and it is now ready for a movie night or dessert bar after dinner. Perfect with a hot drink in the evening! We are all in different places whether it’s financial, social, mental etc. Be thankful for what you have and always make the most of it when/where you can.
Enjoy!
Xo,
Lynn
