With all the treats we get to eat for Halloween, we need a drink (or two) to push it all down!
Usually, in the last month or so before Halloween, there are tons of events and gatherings out there filled with boozy fun!
Halloween celebrates anything and everything spooky! There is always ghosts, skeletons, witches bats, pumpkins and honestly, a whole lot of gore!
This is my first year experimenting with Halloween-inspired recipes and I have to say, I’ve been having so much fun! I can’t wait to share all these fun Halloween recipes with guests!
Do you like Halloween-inspired treats?! What’s your favourite thing to make?
PIN Halloween Party Punch FOR LATER:
Party punch is one of the easiest drinks to make and can save you a lot of time when you’re hosting a big gathering!
I love frozen slushy drinks but when you’re with a big group of people, blending up drinks every hour is definitely a bit annoying and takes away from your guests! What’s awesome about party punch is that you can also make batches the night or hours before the party and leave them in the fridge to chill.
Parties can be very draining so you need to do about a million things the week leading up to it to the day the party starts! You can also prepare the garnishes early so on the day of your event, you’ll have a lot of time to exert your energy elsewhere!
What drinks do you make when you have guests over? Let me know in the comments!
HERE IS HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN PARTY PUNCH:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this Halloween Party Punch is super easy to find and are available at most grocery stores. You could find cranberry, pomegranate, orange juice and sparkling water from the grocery store and sparkling wine and white rum from the liquor store.
The only ingredient that might be harder to find would be the lychee. Luckily, it is a nonperishable item so you can easily purchase it online! You can get blueberries from the produce section of your store and you’ll just need some BBQ skewers to make sure the “eyeballs” don’t sink them to the bottom. The skewer makes it easier for you and guests to eat without getting your hands all sticky.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this Halloween Party Punch with Fruity Eyeballs are:
INGREDIENTS
Halloween Party Punch
- Pomegranate Juice
- Cranberry Juice
- Orange Juice
- Sparkling Water OR Wine
- White Rum
Fruit Eyeballs
- Canned Lychee
- Blueberries
- Bamboo Skewers
WHAT TYPE OF ALCOHOL SHOULD I USE?
For this specific Halloween Party Punch recipe, I used white rum. I honestly love the taste of white rum and prefer it as the hard liquor in all my mixed drinks. I find that white rum blends in with fruity flavours more. I usually purchase the Barcardi Superior White Rum from the liquor store as it’s moderately priced! Whatever quality of alcohol you have access to is alright!
For this drink, if you want to make it stronger, you can add in any sparkling wine but if you’re looking for it to be a light all-night drink, you can just use sparkling water.
You are of course welcome whatever liquor you have on hand. Vodka or gin is great alternatives too! If you want to make this alcohol friendly, you can omit the alcohol altogether and just use sparkling water or wine.
WHAT IS THE TIME BREAKDOWN TO MAKE THIS RECIPE?
The time breakdown to make this Halloween Party Punch with Fruity Eyeballs is really only about 5-10 minutes but you do need to chill the pitcher! The entire time to make this drink includes:
To Prepare and Mix – this includes measuring all the ingredients and combining them into a large pitcher
Time: 5 Minutes
To Chil– this includes storing the pitcher in the fridge to cool before serving
Time: 2 Hours (minimally 1 hour)
To Create – this includes making all the fruity eyeballs and adding them to skewers
Time: 5 Minutes
Total time from start to finish: 2+ Hours
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
For this recipe, you really don’t need too much. You just need to ensure that your pitcher is big enough to handle all the liquids. You’ll need measuring cups which you already have but alternatively, you can measure with your heart and taste along the way. You’ll need a big spoon or ladle to mix all the ingredients well together and bamboo skewers which I listed in the ingredients!
WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO PREPARE?
The steps to make this Halloween Party Punch with Fruity Eyeballs are:
- Prepare, Measure and Mix – all the ingredients and put it in a large pitcher
- Chill – all the whole mixture for at least 1 hour
- Create – each of the lychee and blueberry eyeballs and skewer them on to each bamboo stick
- Pour and Serve – and enjoy!
CAN I SUB/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
You can absolutely substitute or add any ingredients to this Halloween Party Punch! The main thing to keep in mind is that you want the mixture to be red. So if you want to do a different fruit juice like strawberry, raspberry etc. you totally can! You can do either sparkling water or wine but if you’d like to make this sweeter, you can use Sprite or 7-Up.
As for the alcohol, I did mention above that you are free to use whatever alcohol you please. I enjoy white rum which is what I used for this one. You can alternatively use vodka or gin which are both clear alcohols.
To make the eyeballs, I used lychee and blueberries! I actually found this inspo on Pinterest so I’m not entirely sure what else you can substitute this with! I’ve thought that you can use black olives as the inner eyes but my mind blanks when it comes to the outer white part of the eye,
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
This Halloween Party Punch recipe is definitely not sweet but more crisp and refreshing. The balance of all the juices is equal and tastes very unique and delicious. Cranberry, pomegranate and orange juice is not a combination I thought of trying but I thought the flavours would complement each other well and I was right!
You really don’t taste the rum and I used sparkling water for this so it wasn’t too strong for me. If you use wine, you’ll most likely be able to taste the alcohol so measure with your heart and feel free to adjust what you need to.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
As there are no sliced fruits in this drink, this will keep for a really long time. You can make this for yourself and just keep it in the fridge weekly. Make sure to store your punch mixture in a glass pitcher that can be sealed.
If you want to enjoy this drink with the fruity eyeballs, they will be good for up to 5 days. I suggest making them just before you plan to enjoy them so the lychee doesn’t soak up too much for the red colour and still look like eyeballs!

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DISH?
The inspirations to create this was actually from Pinterest! I tend to find a lot of inspiration from Pinterest but I always try to not fully read the ingredients and instructions so I could make it myself and alter it to how I see fit.
I’ve always loved lychee as a kid so as soon as I saw this pin, I knew I needed to make this! I planned all my content ahead of time and planned for lots of spooky Halloween recipes and activities! I’ve been dabbling in more drink recipes and knew that I should make a Halloween Punch.
This was the pin I saw and I knew I had to make it:
COST OF THIS HALLOWEEN PARTY PUNCH?
This Halloween Party Punch with Fruity Eyeballs uses ingredients that you may already have at home. I bought everything from scratch so it was a bit expensive but of course, I had tons of ingredients like leftovers. The ingredients for this Halloween Party Punch are:
Based on my groceries in CAD, if you were buying EVERYTHING from scratch:
Halloween Party Punch
- Pomegranate Juice (473 ml) – $6.73
- Cranberry Juice (1.8 L) – $3.80
- Orange Juice (2.6 L) – $5.45
- Sparkling Water (1 L) – $1.95
- White Rum (375 ml) – $11.99
Fruity Eyeballs
- Canned Lychee (540 ml) – $3.05
- Blueberries (550 ml) – $5.45
- Bamboo Skewers (100 pcs) – $3.25
Total: $36.67 (not all the ingredients were used and leftovers can be used for other recipes)
As all of these ingredients are new, if you just priced out the actual ingredients used in this Halloween party punch recipe, it would come up to about $15.
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Not many notes for this one BUT keep the bubbly in here for sure! Bubbly drinks are always fun and Halloween is all about fun! I’ve seen drinks that feature these lychee eyeballs and they aren’t on a skewer so it’s up to you whether you want to use a bamboo skewer or not!
One last thing is that you might want to be gentle with the lychee. When you are stuffing the blueberries in each lychee, they are quite soft so just make sure to handle them gently so they don’t tear apart!
