Spooky season = Spooky food!
Halloween is a super fun time of the year where things that are normally scary are celebrated! I have been decorating my home slowly in Halloween decor and have been loving it. It’s the first year where I have been embracing Halloween fully. I used to just glaze over it and focus on Fall but I’m celebrating everything nowadays!
I was scrolling Pinterest a few months ago, prepping my Halloween content when I came across a lot of different variations of mummy treats. If you’ve been a reader of the blog, you know that we are all about delicious and easy recipes and Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs were something I knew I had to create!
Do you do any special Halloween-themed treats? Or are you just a candy and regular treats person?!
PIN Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs FOR LATER:
I feel like I go on Pinterest and see so many recipes with a million ingredients and honestly, life is going at 1000 miles per hour so I really needed to find recipes that only require a few things and take little time.
I recipe tested this a few times and my husband ate them all up within minutes! These Halloween mummy hot dogs are the best recipe to make for the months leading up to Halloween and everyone will adore it!
What is your favourite Halloween-themed treat?! Let me know in the comments!
This Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs recipe is accompanied by a YouTube Tutorial. If you haven’t subscribed to my channel on YouTube, don’t forget to!
HERE IS HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN MUMMY HOT DOGS:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The 2 ingredients to make these Halloween mummy hot dogs are literally available anywhere! All you need is some kind of pre-made dough like wiener wraps, croissant dough, or biscuit dough all work great. Next, you’ll need mini sausages/ hot dogs to wrap around and that’s it!
You can get creative and make some eyes as I did or skip it and just add a bowl of your favourite dipping sauce on the side.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make these Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are:
- 1 Can of Pillsbury Wiener Wraps
- 1 Package of Mini Cocktail Wieners/Hot Dogs
- Mustard (Optional)
- Seaweed (Optional)
WHAT TYPE OF WRAPS SHOULD I USE?
As I mentioned above, you’ll need to find any pre-made dough to make these Halloween Mummy Weiner Wraps. Usually located near the dairy section, Pillsbury has an assortment of pre-made doughs that you can use to make this cute Halloween Appetizer.
For ease, you can use exactly what I used which is wiener wraps.
WHAT IS THE TIME BREAKDOWN TO MAKE THIS RECIPE?
These Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are super easy to make. I’d say that the only step that takes the most amount of time is probably cutting the dough into thin strips and wrapping them around the mini hot dogs. The time breakdown for this recipe is:
To Prepare – this includes cutting the dough and wrapping it around the hot dogs
Time: 20 Minutes
To Bake – this includes lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and baking them in the oven
Time: 10-12 Minutes
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
The equipment that you need to make these Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are super simple and that you most likely already have. You’ll need a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, a cutting board and sharp scissors or a knife to slice up the dough wraps. Other than that, if you’re serving it up, you’ll need a nice board or plate to put on the table!
WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO PREPARE?
The steps to make these Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are:
- Slice/Cut – the weiner wraps into thin strips
- Wrap – each of the thin strips around each mini hot dog
- Bake – the mummy hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Plate and Serve – and enjoy!
CAN I SUB/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
These Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs are 2 ingredients but you can absolutely substitute the ingredients to fit your lifestyle. If you’re looking to swap up the wiener wrap, again, you can use biscuit dough or croissant dough!
If you’re looking to swap out the hot dog or sausage, you can take veggie or vegan hot dogs and just cut them up into smaller pieces or if there are mini vegan/vegetarian hot dogs or sausages out there, you can just use that! I’ve never seen it yet so let me know if you ever see these and where I can buy them in the comments!
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
These Halloween Mummy Hot Dogs taste really good! They are exactly what you think they’d taste like which is a cocktail sausage and baked dough. If you’ve ever had a hot dog bun or something similar, it tastes just like it! It’s very meaty as we only use thin strips of dough around them.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
These actually keep for a while! I have kept them in the fridge for up to 7 days and just reheated them in the air fryer but for the best quality, I say just store it for up to 2 days.

INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS DISH?
I get most of my inspiration from Pinterest but for Halloween, I wanted to make some easy, few ingredient recipes for people who are constantly busy like I am. I have a lot of commitments that are last minute due to the number of friends and family I have so sometimes I don’t have a lot of time to prepare but I still want to make something myself!
I’ve never really celebrated Halloween until it was just my husband and I living together so now that I have the opportunity, I’m celebrating any holiday or special occasion I possibly can!
HOW CAN I MEAL PREP THIS RECIPE?
This recipe is super easy to meal prep! You can easily just treat it as a side for a salad or soup and just have them in a separate container. These keep in the fridge for up to 7 days and you can simply just reheat it before eating. I prefer consuming them within 2-3 days after making them as they are the freshest but they are still fine to enjoy for up to 7 days.
COST OF THESE HALLOWEEN MUMMY HOT DOGS?
I priced out everything but the “eyes” of the mummy which can basically just be mustard or ketchup dots that you most likely already have:
