Ah! I feel like September 1 begins the holiday season. I know, I hear people groan about celebrating Christmas too early or the shops starting to take the decor out too early but honestly, for me, the holiday season is only for 1/4 of the year then all the other months are pretty ordinary so I take it all in!
I have been planning for Christmas presents and decor since Summer. Mostly for budget reasons, I like to get/swap new decor every year so I buy and sell things and keep a budget set for it.
I’m not sure if this may be just an Asian culture thing but we don’t really have set course meals. It’s more or less a buffet of food that anyone and everyone can go back to throughout the night! I do plan on living away from my family/big city in a few years and there will definitely be times where I won’t be able to travel to them for Christmas!
That will definitely most likely be the time I can do a gorgeous Christmas table setting because we’ll have a smaller group but until then, I’m admiring it over the internet!
Do you do a table setting when you host or is it buffet style? I’d love to know in the comments below!

I’d say out of all the Christmas decor in a home, your tablescape is the most impressionable. If you think about it, a majority of Christmas is basically to have a feast and your guests will be sitting at the table or will be in the dining area for more time than usual.
Around Christmas, it’s the time where you get to see all your friends and family that you may not necessarily see in the year so there’s lots of catching up to do and people just relaxing and enjoying the ambiance.
The living room or seating area of course will have the main Christmas tree and is where guests will move later but I’d say the feast or dinner is one of the most looked-forward-to aspects when being a guest of Christmas.
Although we mostly have a buffet style, I make sure that the dining room to get food is decorated and festive!
What’s something that you look forward to every Christmas? Is it gorgeous Christmas table settings? haha Let me know in the comments!
HERE ARE 10 GORGEOUS CHRISTMAS TABLE SETTINGS:
A pop of red and gold
Red and gold decoration is pretty much a classic colour combo for Christmas! If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you know that my household is a huge fan of white, beige and neutral colours but the pop of red or gold tones is so beautiful for Christmas.
To achieve this gorgeous tablescape, you’ll need to have a gorgeous silk napkin to really bring out the pop of gold or red, gold or red table rings, gold flatware and very tall and beautiful candlestick holders. You can also bring out natural elements such as wood and greenery.

Checkered and Natural
If you’re a big fan of Farmhouse decor, checkered and natural designs are a must! Farmhouse decor has been getting more and more popular throughout the years as it brings out the gorgeous natural and practicality of farm life and also incorporates modern rustic charm! Plaid patterns, wood elements and lots of greenery are gorgeous for a Christmas table setting!
For this checkered and natural tablescape, make to have lots of pinecones and greenery to drape the table with as well as greenery as napkin rings. You’ll also need to get black plaid or checkered placements and a simple/plain dinner plate.

Picking up the tree
I tried to find out the origin of this red truck with a Christmas tree in the back but I haven’t yet but it’s totally everywhere on Christmas and is definitely an official symbol of the holidays! I love this setup as it reminds me of a red plaid farmhouse style and is super cute for more casual dinner parties!
This picking up the tree tablescape uses lots of red plaid everywhere like their dinner plates and table cloths as well as having the red truck with the tree in the back as a centrepiece. You’ll also need to have some green pops of colour like green flatware and green wine glasses.

Calm and Natural
I love this calm and natural setup as it’s so visually calming to the eyes and there’s only a small up of colour and the fresh greenery is absolutely stunning! I love how the dinner plates and flatware are every minimal in detail and the napkin rings look like cookies! This calm and natural setup is perfect for those who don’t do too much with their home decor during the holidays!
With this tablescape, you’re able to really use what you have and pick up/make some things closer to the date. If you plan on having fresh greenery and eucalyptus then you’ll need to wait until a day before and if you’re able cookies as the napkin rings then it’s best to make them the morning of or night before as well.

Candy Cane/Peppermint Inspired
As soon as candy canes start to come out, you bet I’ve got a box stashed by my desk to eat all day long! Dentists say that Halloween is a bad time of year but candy canes are the suckers that get my teeth haha! Candy canes and peppermints have a gorgeous red and white design throughout and look absolutely magical during Christmas.
If you’re huge on an all-red theme in your home for Christmas, candy cane/peppermint-inspired table settings are for you! Basically anything red and white you can find would be perfect to use then if you can find gorgeous peppermint or candy cane patterned candles, napkin rings, and/or vases and jars to tie everything together would be stunning!

Winter Wonderland
I used to love red/green standard Christmas decor but recently started loving white Christmas decor when my home decor style changed. I love white decor because it makes a room so gorgeous and bright! Hints of gold really tie into the elegance of a setting especially if you’re having a fancier dinner party. White Christmas decor is becoming more popular and very easy to purchase in stores!
Clear drinking glasses or wine glasses with a gold rim are beautiful to have as well a lot of little Christmas trees and gold charger plates are the best to achieve this look!

Cranberry and Candle Tablescape
Cranberry sauce is my fav especially when there’s a huge juicy turkey on the menu! I love homemade cranberry sauce and making it on the stove and hearing them pop! Candles are so simple yet so beautiful to incorporate into your table setting. You really have the best opportunity to make the room feel cozy with candles. This table setting is definitely very calm and natural as well. You can see that wood is an element throughout with a garland down the middle. The pops of red complement the cranberries in the middle jars with candles in them.
This is the perfect tablescape if you love natural Christmas decor but also love subtle pops of red and green throughout.

Elegant Gold Tablescape
Like the winter wonderland above, this table setting incorporates a lot of white but this time lots more gold! Instead of gold being shown as a pop of colour in details, it’s the white the pops in the details and gold is the centre of attention! Some things like gold cutlery, gold placemats, gold Christmas trees and a shimmery gold table runner is what will complete your table!
This elegant gold tablescape is perfect for people who already have pops of gold in their household and want to make that pop in their homes! One thing about gold to look out for is that some gold home decor an unflattering cheap look to it so just keep an eye out for good quality items!

Navy and Rose Gold
If you like to make a statement and be a trend-setter, this navy and rose gold tablescape is for you! Navy is definitely not a Christmas colour but looks so gorgeous in this setting! Rose gold and navy complement each other so well. I’ve seen this colour combo in so many weddings now and I’m obsessed! Whoever thought of this colour combo first knew what they were doing.
For this tablescape, you can incorporate some greenery like the garland across the table and have navy napkins and maybe a runner or ribbon too. Then for the rose gold aspects, you can use beautiful rose gold candle holders, rose gold charger plates, and rose gold cutlery.

Bohemian Holiday Table
Last but not least, a little more my style! I have to say, I’m definitely an in-between with winter wonderland and boho with lots and lots of glitter. I think Christmas is such a magical time so I love lots of glitters but as I’ve said throughout many posts and on my overall platform, I tend to love more natural colours rather than vibrant ones as I feel overwhelmed with bright colours and I want my home to be more calm and neutral and just a safe space to come home to.
To achieve this gorgeous bohemian holiday tablescape, you’ll need to incorporate a lot of natural materials so generally this includes rattan, juts, wood, dried florals/stems, live plants/greenery and natural linens. For my own decor, I love using a lot of wood and linens but also some glitter.

These are great themes. My family normally sticks with red and gold. Sometimes sprinkled with other colors but for the most part, traditional. Perhaps I need to change it up this year and try the Winter Wonderland Theme after all, my favorite season is winter. Why not, right?
