Sunday = Treat yourself? Am I right? I love Self-care Sundays and a big part of why I love Sundays so much is that I can indulge in treats “guilt-free”. I do have to admit that I don’t only have treats on Sundays and I do have treats on the days that I workout!
This year I’m making treat boxes and delivering them a few days before Christmas for people to enjoy during Christmas Eve/Day. These are super easy and you can make ahead, roll them into balls and freeze them till you’re ready to bake!

This is probably my favourite super easy recipe to make. Everything was under $3 and it’s a crowd favourite too! I’ve made this in the past and I’ve only heard good things! Not too messy so you can get the kiddos involved and the texture in my opinion is perfect!! Crunchy outside and soft in the middle!
Check out my quick reel here!
HERE ARE THE STEPS TO MAKE EASY CHOCOLATEY CANDY CANE COOKIES:
Where can I find these ingredients?

I got the cheapest and most generic ingredients this year to see what it would be like and obviously to do this on budget. I was doing my regular groceries and I picked up the No-Name Devils Food Cake Mix for $1 and I got candy cane’s from Dollarama for $1.25! The eggs and the oil, I had at home and hopefully, these ingredients are in your pantry/fridge.
What do I need?
- Boxed Chocolate Cake Mix
- Crushed Candy Canes
- 2 Eggs
- 1/3 Cup of Vegetable Oil
- Parchment Paper/Cookie Sheets
How can I assemble this?
- Preheat your oven to 375 F.
- Mix everything in a bowl, no specific order but I usually do eggs, oil, cake mix then candy canes once everything is in! (Save a few crushed candy canes on the side)
- Roll the finished mix into desired sized balls.
- Place cookies on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper at least 2 inches apart and flatten them out.
- Add a generous amount of the leftover crushed candy canes.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cookies are light brown on the edges.
- Let cool and enjoy or wrap them up and share with others!

You could do this with any box mix but I love peppermint chocolate and think it’s the most perfect treat for the holidays. These didn’t turn out too sweet and I could easily munch on them for days!
Let me know if you make them and how you like them!

Lynn
