INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I am very much a baguette girl and LOVE toasted baguettes with salted butter! Every year for the past maybe 5 or so years, I’ve been making different crostinis near the holiday season and I have just been loving them! They are the easiest and perfect bite-sized appetizers to serve and look gorgeous on a platter!
This is one of those recipes where it looks like so much work goes into it but it’s actually super simple and quick to whip up as your guests are arriving if you’re hosting! These go so well with some drinks too if you’re doing a cocktail hour and also just filling by itself if you’re hosting a smaller tapas kind of evening!
Some other crostinis that I adore are Pear and Ricotta Crostinis and Avocado and Shrimp Crostinis!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Yes! The baguette tends to harden quite quickly so make sure to not over toast and keep out for too long.
Crispy Bacon Mushroom Crostinis
Ingredients
- 1/2 French Baguette or 12 1/2" baguette slices
- 1 Cup Bacon finely chopped
- 8-10 White Mushrooms finely chopped
- 1/2 Cup Chive Cream Cheese preferrably whipped or room temp
- 1/4 Cup Salted Butter room temp
- seasonings of your choice
Instructions
- In a small sauce pot add in your bacon and cook them until crispy.
- Once your bacon has gotten crispy, you can add in your mushrooms and any seasonings you'd like. Cook until mushrooms have fully browned then set aside.
- Lightly butter both sides of your baguette slices and toast.
- Spread a layer of chive cream cheese then top each crostini with your bacon and mushroom mixture. Garnish optional, if you have any!
- Serve on a tray and enjoy!
