HERE IS HOW TO MAKE BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING BREAD:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this super easy butterscotch bread can be found in almost any grocery store! I use the Jell-O Butterscotch Instant Pudding which is a popular brand that is found in most grocery stores but if you can’t get your hands on this in-store, you can also buy it online as it is a non-perishable item!
Aside from the Jell-O pudding mix, you’ll need items from the dairy section like eggs, milk, and unsalted butter. As well as items from the baking section such as flour, salt, baking powder, and white sugar.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this yummy butterscotch Jell-O pudding bread are:
- All-Purpose Flour
- Large Eggs
- Unsalted Butter
- Salt
- Baking Powder
- White Sugar
- Milk
- Butterscotch Jell-O Pudding Mix
Optional Icing:
- Icing Sugar
- Milk
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
You need very minimal equipment to make this delicious butterscotch bread loaf. All you’ll need are some big mixing bowls, spatulas, and baking pans! Here are a few of my picks from Amazon:
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
So, yes and no! I’m not the greatest baker when it comes down to the science so I would suggest if you do try and make this recipe tailored to your diet, do the research yourself and see what you can swap eg. sugar, flour, dairy etc.
As for the pudding mix, there are so many different kinds of flavors of pudding mix out there so you are definitely welcome to swap out the pudding flavor and just use my recipe as a base! This is the same base for my Pistachio Pudding Bread that I love so much.
WHAT DOES BUTTERSCOTCH PUDDING BREAD TASTE LIKE?
The first time I took a bite out of this bread, I tasted the delicious buttery and brown sugar flavor! I loved it so much that I knew I needed to share this recipe!
The bread itself is super moist and its shape holds up great like a loaf. It’s super easy to slice into and perfect for an afternoon snack or even a quick dessert to take care of that sweet craving!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
This butterscotch pudding bread keeps for a very long time which is excellent! I kept half out to enjoy and froze half to give to my mom 2 weeks later and the quality was still great. I recommend keeping this either in a bread box on the counter or in the fridge for up to a week and in the freezer for up to a month.
Be sure to store this in the freezer in an airtight container or wrapped tightly with saran/plastic wrap to ensure quality and freshness stay intact.
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I created the pistachio pudding bread recipe on my blog a year ago and became obsessed with it. I knew that if this pistachio bread was so easy to make and delicious that any flavored pudding would be just as good!
Butterscotch is a flavor that I haven’t really dabbled in so I knew that it was going to be the first one I try and boy, was it a great decision!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Again, this bread is more on the sweeter side so if you’re not a huge fan of sweet baked goods, I would recommend perhaps lessening the sugar a little bit or making the pistachio bread instead as that bread is not as sweet!

This is the end of Butterscotch Pudding Bread.
I was making this really quick because it looked simple and saw the the ‘Tsp’ for both the salt and baking powder. I was always taught that a capital T meant tablespoon and a lower case t meant teaspoon. My bread is ridiculously salty.
Oh no, sorry to hear that!
I want to make this however I have called EVERY store even Walmart and Target all they have is cook and serve butterscotch pudding mix or sugar free butterscotch pudding mix I need you to tell me about these working in this recipe?
Hmm, I’ve not tried the sugar free butterscotch pudding so I won’t be able to confirm but I attached a photo above of the exact pudding mix I get! Hopefully you’ll be able to find it 🙂
Glad I read the previous comment from Claire or I would have made the same mistake. Claire is correct and it is Cooking 101. Either spell out the word or use the correct abbreviation to avoid these mistakes.
Ah! I’ve been meaning to fix that! Thanks for the reminder, will do this now 🙂
It is internationally known that tsp is teaspoon n tbsp is tablespoon, regardless of caps or not. Most ppl who bakes knows that… hello. I like some recipes fm the US, UK, Asia, etc n learn their tsp, tbsp n cup sizes n weight in order to make these desserts. Thank u all for sharing your recipes
Is the pudding mix INSTANT or COOKED? And what size package?
Instant! 99g
I’m wondering if you could use either instant or cooked? Has it been tried and does it matter?
I always use the instant Jell-O one! I haven’t tried the cooked version yet 🙂
Super easy recipe!! Very pretty and really tasty!!
Thank you 🧡
Has anyone tried making this with a sugar-free instant mix? If so I would like to know how it turned out!
