HERE IS HOW TO MAKE BANANA PUDDING OVERNIGHT OATS:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
You can find the ingredients for Banana Pudding Overnight Oats at various locations:
- Grocery Stores: Look for oats in the breakfast aisle, yogurt or milk in the dairy section, and bananas and banana cream pudding or pie filling packets in the produce or baking aisle.
- Supermarkets or Markets: Many supermarkets offer a variety of ingredients in one place, making it convenient to find oats, dairy, and fresh produce like bananas.
- Specialty Food Stores: Some stores specialize in organic or health-focused products and might offer a wider selection of oats or alternative milk options.
- Online Retailers: Purchase ingredients like oats, banana cream pudding/pie filling packets, or alternative milk online if specific items are not available locally.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this Banana Pudding Overnight Oats are:
- Rolled Oats
- Chia Seeds
- Greek Yogurt
- Almond milk (or milk preference of your choice)
- Graham Crackers or Nilla Wafers
- Bananas
- Jell-O Banana Cream Instant Pudding and/or Pie Filling
- Whipped Cream (optional)
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
Hopefully, you have everything you need at home but if not, you can easily pick up some equipment from the dollar store or any department store! My favorite thing about overnight oat recipes is that you don’t need special equipment to make it and it’s less clean up too! All you’ll need to make overnight oats is measuring cups/spoons, containers with airtight lids and a spoon to eat it with!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
You absolutely can substitute or add anything to this recipe! The oats, milk, yogurt, and chia seeds are part of my standard overnight oats recipe base. I use Greek yogurt but you can use any yogurt! Bonus points for banana yogurt as it adds some sweetness to it!
Chia seeds are a great addition for added fiber to your breakfast. If you want to bulk it up and add protein, you can add some vanilla protein powder. I like using crushed graham crackers because I like the texture of the graham crackers soaked in the milk but you can also use Nilla wafers which is very popular for banana pudding recipes!
For milk, I’ve tried oat, almond and regular dairy milk and all tastes great! You can use any milk that you prefer and tailored to your dietary needs. Banana milk is increasingly popular and may be a good option too!
Lastly, having real bananas in this is so important! It ties everything together and I mean… bananas?! Shall I say more? I don’t think you’d be reading this if you hated bananas HAHA.
WHAT DOES BANANA PUDDING OVERNIGHT OATS TASTE LIKE?
Banana Pudding Overnight Oats offer a delightful blend of flavors:
- Banana: Infuses a natural sweetness and a creamy texture to the oats, creating a comforting and familiar taste reminiscent of ripe bananas.
- Creaminess: The combination of oats and yogurt or milk results in a creamy and satisfying texture, similar to banana pudding, offering a smooth and enjoyable consistency.
- Subtle Sweetness: The natural sweetness from bananas, complemented by a hint of sweetness from additional ingredients like vanilla extract or sweeteners, provides a mildly sweet taste.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
Banana Pudding Overnight Oats can typically be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days when kept in an airtight container. However, for the best taste and texture, it’s recommended to consume them within the first 24-48 hours after preparation.
I would say if you *can*, to just add in the bananas right before you eat it however, they do keep well within the mixture so it’s okay to add it in ahead of time during meal prep!
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I LOVE banana-flavored anything and banana cream pie! It’s one of my fav desserts that is so hard to master! I feel like there has only been a handful of times that I’ve actually liked a banana cream pie but once it’s nailed, it’s in my thoughts for life.
I knew that although not completely the same, banana pudding overnight oats would just be so delicious and a breakfast that I will look forward to in the mornings!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
Bananas turn brown very easily so to avoid this, I would recommend just adding the fresh banana right before you eat it! If you do add the banana when meal prepping the overnight oats then just be sure to have it fully covered by the mixture as it browns up when exposed to air!
