WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
This recipe is super easy to make and requires little to nothing! All you’ll really need is an air fryer, some bowls and tongs. I love my Ninja DualZone air fryer as it’s super helpful when I want to cook multiple recipes at the same time or a bigger portion! Other than that, you’ll want a bowl and measuring cups to throw all the ingredients together and let the chicken marinate in and some tongs to use when you’re cooking the chicken!

CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
You sure can substitute or add anything you’d like to this recipe! I generally like to keep my recipes super simple so I’m not overwhelmed! I only use a few spices and seasonings for this but you’re welcome to put in or remove whichever ingredients you’d like!
If you don’t have access to honey, you can substitute it with maple syrup, brown sugar or any other sweetener you’d like. If you don’t have buffalo sauce, you can also use sriracha or again any other hot sauce you’d like! I love this recipe for chicken wings however, any chicken works too! You can use what you already have!
WHAT DO HOT HONEY CHICKEN WINGS TASTE LIKE?

The kick of heat is in this is so perfect even my husband who doesn’t like spicy foods likes it! I love spicy foods so basically, there’s a side of hot sauce with everything I eat but these wings are so dang flavourful, in my opinion, it’s just the perfect amount of heat and sweet! The honey makes these so delicious and not overly sweet! My mouth is watering thinking about them!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
Hot Honey Chicken Wings can last for 3-4 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can use a microwave to reheat them as just for about 40 seconds on a plate but they are extra delicious reheated in the air fryer! I like to put mine for about 3-5 minutes at 400F in the air fryer and they are the best!
You can also freeze these if you make a big batch and don’t finish them. They are still super delicious when thawed and reheated! If you’d like, you can also make an extra side of sauce to baste them with before serving!
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I have been obsessed with hot honey is not even an exaggeration! When I first started seeing hot honey become popular on social media, I wasn’t too interested in it because I thought that it wasn’t anything super special but when I started tasting hot honey at restaurants and getting hot honey on the side when I eat out, I started to just absolutely love it!
I now use hot honey on everything! I especially love hot honey salmon and it’s become my weekly staple! I do either salmon or some type of white fish and I have not gotten tired of it so far! I knew I would go feral for hot honey chicken wings and boy, was I right!
ANY OTHER NOTES?
I would recommend marinating these wings for up to 2 hours if you can! I always encourage marinating meat as it just makes it 10x more delicious but if you do have to cook them right away, it’s not a problem! I always have those days where I’m in a rush and don’t have time to marinate so cook my meats right away and it turns out fine and still delicious!
Hot Honey Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 18 Chicken Wings
- 3 tbso Honey
- 1/3 Cup Buffalo Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 2 tsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add your chicken wings, honey, buffalo sauce, onion powder, red pepper flakes, vinegar, salt and pepper. Gently mix together until every piece of chicken is coated in the marinade. Optional: marinate for 2 hous if you have the time but perfectly fine to cook immediately as well!
- Preheat your air fryer to 400F and place a small piece of parchment paper at the bottom or lightly spray with oil to prevent chicken from sticking.
- Place the chicken wings in the air fryer and let cook for 20-25 minutes or until your desired doneness! Flip half-way through for a char on all sides.
- Let cool, squeeze fresh lemon juice on top and enjoy!
