HERE IS HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BBQ CHICKPEAS:
WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
Since this recipe only requires 3 ingredients, you can find all of these in your local store! You can use either canned chickpeas or dehydrated ones like I do. I find the dehydrated ones a lot cheaper and you get plenty more! Be sure to hydrate them in some water for about 24 hours before using. The BBQ seasoning should be found in your seasonings aisle. Just use your favourite one! You’ll need a little bit of olive or avocado oil as this is what gives it the crunch!
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this delicious roasted chickpea snack are:
- Chickpeas
- Olive Oil
- BBQ Seasoning
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
For this recipe, you’ll need a bowl and spoon to mix everything up as well as an air fryer of course! You can use your oven if you don’t have an air fryer but it may take a little while longer to crisp up so you’d need to keep an eye on them!
Here are my fav Amazon kitchen finds!
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING OUT?
This recipe is super simple so there isn’t many ingredients that you can substitute or add but if you are looking to spruce this recipe up, here are some suggestions!
- Adding some cheese powder or seasoning to make a cheesy BBQ flavour
- Subbing olive oil for your preferred oil of choice like avocado
- Using different kinds of beans or peas instead
WHAT DO AIR FRYER BBQ CHICKPEAS TASTE LIKE?
These crunchy chickpeas are amazing as they have a salty and smoky flavour with a little bit of a kick! The BBQ seasoning of course depends on what you use but for the most part, they are all pretty similar! The have a great crunch to them and is so addictive!
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
These crunchy chickpeas are good for 2-3 days when stored in an air tight container. Be sure that no moisture seeps in as they will lose their crunch! Honestly, they don’t take long to make so you can enjoy them fresh whenever you’d like as long as you have hydrated chickpeas! They are also so delicious, they are gone so fast so will you even be storing them? 😂
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
I LOVE crunchy roasted chickpeas and a few years back, I use to buy them from the store. When you get packaged items, there are lots of companies that add in extra ingredients that you do not need or the ones with only a few whole ingredients tend to be more on the expensive side!
I started making my own to save money as 1 bag of chickpeas costs me $2-3 and lasts me a month or two! Experimenting with flavours has been so fun that I’ve even made delicious dessert ones!
