Date nights are so important to keeping a healthy relationships but you definitely don’t want it to break the bank!
In this post, I wanted to share some affordable date night ideas that you can hopefully find locally too and support some small businesses.
I thought it would be perfect to share some date night ideas that are budget-friendly. Although it may seem like we’re on a honeymoon phase, my husband and I have been together for almost 8 years now! We’ve never broken up throughout the 8 years (super blessed). But we as most couples do, have been through our ups and downs, especially when it comes to time because we all know there is never enough time in the world with all the hustle and bustle life brings.

A big contribution to our “continuous honeymoon phase” relationship is our date nights. Now, date nights may seem like a lot of time and money but it really isn’t! Spending quality time together, even if it’s just for a few hours is essential. It’s important to ensure you’re constantly getting to know each other even when you’ve been together for a while!
People are always changing their thoughts/opinions based on more knowledge they learn every day. So, it’s important to ask questions that raise debate conversation. Lawrence and I usually do Wednesday Date Nights but often switch it up depending on what’s going on!
We try and support local when we can so checking out what’s happening in the neighborhood is a big contribution to our date night ideas.
Here are Affordable Date Night Ideas:
Movies
Going to the theatre to watch the latest movie can definitely rack up but theatres often have deals. So, plan ahead and plan on a discounted night! For us, Tuesdays are half off so it’s a great deal! We usually get a bite outside the theatres so it’s a lot cheaper. My husband isn’t a big fan of popcorn so if I want it, I’ll grab the kiddie size!
Dinner
Same as the movies, get to know restaurants in your area! Some places have themed nights and discounted dinner deals. Lawrence and I are guilty of Wing Wednesdays at our local bar. Delicious, filling and a fun environment! Also, it’s always nice to support local. There’s also Pasta Tuesdays at some places or themed nights for a lower cost!
Deli Trip
Grab a few items from your local deli and head to your local park/beach. I always love a hot roast beef sandwich and hot mac and cheese! Have a nice picnic and/or a walk/bike ride! Scarf those sandwiches down and enjoy the rest of the day!
Indoor Picnic
Transform your living room/bedroom to a cute lounge area with some string lights and Netflix ready! Prepare a few snacks and/or order a pizza. We did an indoor picnic for our anniversary last year! I made a charcuterie board and it was delish!
Local Events
Keep an eye out for any discounted events that are happening and plan your date night around that! Open mic, paint night, etc. are great for date night as well as supporting other artists and the community.
Bike
Grab your bikes and travel as far as you can (consider the round trip). Grab coffee/ice cream on your break and enjoy whatever view you’re near. We love biking beside the beach!
Activity
Bowling, airpark, laser tag, roller skating, ice skating, swimming etc. There are so many active things you can do that can be done cheaply! My local bowling alley does $1 bowling games on Monday nights.
Remember, it doesn’t matter what you do. Date nights are meant to be for connecting with your partner. As long as you’re together, laughing and chatting, it’s the perfect date night!
Those are just a few to mention, I’m sure that there’s a lot more that I’m forgetting and it’ll come to me once this is posted like a lightbulb but I’d love to hear your date night ideas!
