WHERE CAN I FIND THESE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make these delicious chili oil noodles are very easy to find. You can find vermicelli at almost any grocery store as well as using chili oil of your choice and a clove or two of garlic. Oyster sauce might be the ingredient that would be the hardest to find BUT is normally available in the Asian section of your grocery store.
WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS?
The ingredients to make this delicious vermicelli chili oil noodles are:
- Vermicelli
- Chili Oil (use your fav one)
- Oyster Sauce
- Garlic (as much as your heart desires)
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?
The only equipment that you would really need for this is one pot and maybe a strainer if you want! You’ll just need to cook/strain your noodles then you can continue cooking in the same pot.
CAN I SUBSTITUTE/ADD ANYTHING?
You sure can! I love to add frozen veggies whenever I can to bulk up my meals and this is no different. I also love adding some garnishes or even some protein on the side from my fridge.
If you can’t find vermicelli or don’t like it, you can use any sort of noodles that you have in your home or can find in the grocery store. If you can’t find oyster sauce, you can definitely try and substitute it for soy sauce! Just make sure you taste as you go as soy sauce is saltier than just oyster sauce.
WHAT DOES 4 INGREDIENT EASY VERMICELLI CHILI OIL NOODLES LIKE?
Mmmmm, I absolutely adore chili oil noodles and I always crave noodles as a midnight snack. These noodles are just the best things to slurp up! You’ve got a spicy kick from the chili oil, an umami flavour from the oyster sauce, garlicky flavour from of course, the fresh garlic and thin, chewy noodles from the vermicelli. Just overall a super simple and delicious dish.
HOW LONG DOES IT KEEP FOR?
I love making these noodles fresh whenever I can but if you do want to keep them in the fridge, it is best kept for up to 3 days. The oil does an excellent job of keeping the noodles in great condition when heated in the microwave! Just be sure to store it in the fridge in an airtight container.
INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS RECIPE?
Honestly, I love spicy anything and noodles have just been something I long for frequently. I used to just buy instant noodles and use the sauce packets. Buldak Carbonara noodles are my fav but can get pricey and very unhealthy. I like to make my own chili oil or buy any that’s on sale at the grocery store so buying a pack of noodles and doing this myself, saves me a lot of money and I’m also able to tailor the amount I want to eat!
I always feel guilty about eating a whole pack of noodles to myself in the middle of the night but love having them fresh so this recipe just gave me the freedom to alter my portions and still satisfy my craving!

4 Ingredient Vermicelli Chili Oil Noodles
Ingredients
- 100 G Vermicelli uncooked
- 2 Tbsp Chili Oil
- 1-2 Cloves Minced Garlic
- 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
Instructions
- In a small sauce pot, add in 1 cup of water then turn on stove to high heat to bring to a boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add in your vermicelli noodles and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Remember not to cook too long as vermicelli noodles cook quicker than pasta and will become mushy!
- When vermicelli is cooked, strain and put aside. Lower your heat to medium and add in your chili oil, oyster sauce, garlic together and cook for about 1 minute or until garlic is fragrant.
- Add in your vermicelli and toss together until noodles are fully coated in the oil.
- Plate, serve and enjoy!

I’ve seen these on Instagram and I need to make them ASAP – spicy food is my kind of food!
I am like you and even though I love both pasta and noodles, I prefer noodles a bit more! This recipe looks good and so easy to make! I would swap the oyster sauce for soy sauce though so that’s a good tip to taste as I go as I don’t want overly salty noodles!
