HERE ARE 10 MUST-HAVE HEALTHY MINDSET HABITS:
Self Love & Awareness
The most important habit to develop a healthy mindset is loving yourself and having awareness of what you need. Building up your self-love and awareness can take some time but it is so vital to have! Affirmations are a really great way to help with your self-love! I generally love to say a few out loud every day or when I’m feeling down even when I don’t necessarily believe it at the time and it truly helps me see my value!
Constant Gratitude
Although life has a way of throwing things at you when you least expect it, it is always excellent to express constant gratitude. Every single person in this world is different. They have different ways of living, different beliefs, and different circumstances but no matter what place in life you’re in, there is always something to be grateful for. Life is worth living! Once you’re constantly expressing gratitude, that good energy stays with you as a great healthy mindset habit to follow.
Grace and Forgiveness
We are all human beings and sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to. Life and the environment around us are consistently changing every day and things are happening in the world that are out of our control. There are times that we are feeling a little low or sad and that’s okay. It is completely normal to take some time to rest and give your mind and soul the love and care it needs!
Some ideas to show yourself grace and forgiveness are:
- Unplugging from social media and doing a detox day
- Allowing yourself a lay on the couch and watch your favorite shows day
- Have a meal you normally do not have like takeout or something decadent to enjoy
- Leaving household tasks or work to the following day to be done
Nourishing Foods
Everyone will recommend eating healthy and all of these meals and diet plans but the question you should be continuously asking yourself is “Will this meal nourish my body and mind?” To me, it goes further than eating healthy just cause. Be grateful for the body and mind that you have. What foods can take care of my body and mind? If you’re consistently eating things that have no nutritional value, think about how your body and mind which works 24/7 for you will replenish itself. Food is energy and having the right and balanced energy sources is vital to your health and success!
Daily Movement
With the way everything is becoming so automated now, it’s super easy to forget physical activity. I’m super guilty of slaving away on the computer all day that I forget that I’ve been sitting in the same position for hours! Our bodies need movement daily to continue to keep our joints, bones, circulation, and coordination healthy! On top of that, daily movement keeps with productivity and overall well-being and focus.
I started a gym routine earlier this year and for the first 4 months, I just kept going even if I wasn’t in the mood, I’d go and just do a walk on the treadmill. It got to a point where it became a healthy habit that on the days I was supposed to go but didn’t, it felt weird and out of place. I also felt my mood was a lot better and it truly relieved some stress I was feeling day-to-day!
It doesn’t have to be too hard, it can be something as simple as 15 minutes of yoga or stretching, 10-30 minute walk, etc! Start small then build it up. We all start from somewhere and building healthy mindset habits will take time!
Appreciating Little Things
Since social media has become popular, everyone has been posting about the things they have, what they do, and basically their whole lives. Everyone is at a different stage of life but I understand that it’s easy to get wrapped up in grand gestures and always wanting more. If you’ve been seeing everyone buying new cars or luxury bags and you’re not in that position, don’t be hard on yourself. It’s the little things that make life worth living! Just because something is not as flashy or greater in monetary value, does not mean it’s not important.
I’ve never been super materialistic, however, I always appreciate the little things in my life that make me happy like my morning coffees, soaking up the sunshine, my afternoon pick-me-up cookie, smelling some fresh air, etc! Take every day to do something small that makes you happy and gives you something to look forward to.

Surrounding Yourself With Positive People/Environment
I’m a firm believer in your environment affecting your outlook on life. If you’re constantly around people who are negative or love to complain and whine, that’s how you’ll end up feeling as well. If you’re constantly around people who have no goals or ambitions they want to achieve, you won’t be motivated too!
It’s completely understandable to perhaps have some people in your life who won’t see rainbows and sunshine but it may be a good idea to keep a distance from them especially when starting new healthy mindset habits! One day you may even change their outlook as well!
Journalling/Brain Dumping
I’m the type of girl who carries her notebooks and planners everywhere! I’m not kidding, they come with me when I travel as well. I love being able to write things down whenever to get it off my brain so I don’t end up overthinking them. Journalling is also an excellent way to write down your thoughts and understand them more clearly.
When you’re overwhelmed and feeling like you’re not seeing a clear picture of a situation or two, writing all your thoughts down and re-reading it is so helpful! Journalling is so personal and so great to look back at and see all the different things you were once going through and how you overcame them!
Settings Goals/Vision Board
One of my favorite things ever is setting goals and creating vision boards. I love having things to look forward to in my life and it constantly keeps me motivated and excited! Setting attainable goals with steps on how you can achieve them is great for getting you on the right track.
Having a vision board to look up to is an excellent way to steer you in the right direction, imagine your dream life, and create a great path for building healthy mindset habits.
Prioritizing Rest And Sleep
Last but not least, rest and sleep! I am so guilty of not having enough sleep and I’ve been much better at it thankfully! Sleep is fundamentally important for your body and overall well-being! It’s a process that allows your body to rest, repair, and restore itself.
It’s super important for your mind and body to get the rest and sleep that’s needed to function at its greatest capacity and will aid you in achieving the best healthy mindset habits!
